Claystation is a warm and welcoming space for people who love to create with clay, and a happy customer is at the core of our studio. We are, after all, located in Lauttasaari which is known as “onnellisten saari,” the island where happy people live. We welcome everyone at every skill level.

We offer many different types of classes in our studio for people who maybe are thinking about trying ceramics for the first time or perhaps want to take a class with a skilled instructor. We have also created a monthly membership option for people who enjoy creating with no time restrictions on their own and already have the basics of ceramics under control.

The Studio

Our studio is light and spacious with large windows and 200 square meters of floor space. The studio has multiple large worktables that accommodate up to 40 people. We also have a separate space which holds 16 people comfortably and is excellent for holding a private event with groups of friends, a business team building event or a children’s birthday party.

In our studio, you will find all the necessary tools and glazes you will need to create your ceramic pieces. You can hand build with clay, or you can use the studio’s pottery wheels. All the bisque and glaze firings will be done by the studio staff. We also have clay for you to purchase.

A monthly membership

The membership will allow you to create and play with clay on your own time. As a member, you can use the studio space every day between the hours of 8.00 – 22.00. You decide what is the best time for you. You will also receive your own shelf space for the unfinished pieces, your tools and clay. The three main glazes (clear, white and black) are included in the membership. The clay and firings are additional cost.

Your own pottery event at the studio

You can also gather a group of your own and throw a private pottery party. Our “Glass corner” accommodates up to 16 people, but we arrange private events also for small groups.

Studio Information

We are conveniently located in Lauttasaari. Public transportation will get you to us in no time. The closest metro station is the Lauttasaari metro station. It is about 900 meter walk from the station to our studio. Bus number 21 will drop you off right in front of the studio. If you are biking, there is bike parking in the yard, and if you travel by car, street parking is available on Kiviaidankatu, Vattuniemenkatu or Vattuniemenkuja.
